BLUE SLIPS

VR Mechanical is an Authorised Unregistered Vehicle Inspection Scheme (AUVIS) Workshop.

Which means Vehicles not currently registered in NSW that require an 

Authorised Unregistered Vehicle Inspection (sometimes called a blue slip) before they can be registered

can be carried out by VR Mechanical.

VR Mecahanical is authorised to conduct inspections and 

issue reports for the purposes of obtaining NSW registration on:

-Buses that have a tare mass of 2.5 tonnes or less.

-Light trailers and Caravans that have an aggregate trailer mass of 4.5 tonnes or less, including those 

fitted with breakaway brakes, but not including those fitted with air or vacuum (breakaway) braking systems.

-Motorcycles, including motorcycles with a side-car attached.

-Passenger cars and goods carrying vehicles that have a gross vehicle mass of 4.5 tonnes or less 

except vehicles fitted with power-operated brakes.

Inspections carried out by VR Mecahanical AUVIS include:

-Adjustment of Records

-Clearance of design based Defect Notices

-Design Checks

-Identity Checks

-Safety Checks

Blue slips take a lot longer than a normal Pink Slip so we require the vehicle to be left with us for the day

beacuse we cannot do Blue Slips while you wait. Blue Slips also cannot be done Mobile so the vehicle has to

be inspected by VR Mechanical at Unit 2b/9 Nells Road West Gosford NSW 2250.

PINK SLIPS  and MOBILE CARAVAN, TRAILER AND BOAT TRAILER INSPECTIONS

Most light vehicles more than 5 years old in NSW will require a safety inspection report before they can be registered in NSW.

Light vehicles include trailers and caravans with an aggregate trailer mass of 4.5 tonnes or less, including those fitted with breakaway brakes but not including those fitted with air or vacuum breakaway braking systems.

NSW safety inspection reports for light vehicles are valid for 6 months.

At VR Mechanical we also offer a mobile Pink Slip service for Caravans, boat trailers and trailers. We come to you and do these inspections on site, the service costs $150.00 which includes the call out fee and inspection fee. If there are any repairs required to pass the inspection the cost for those repairs is on top of the $150.00 mobile inspection fee and would be quoted at the time of inspection.

We require a hard flat surface to carry the inspections and need to be able to get our service vehicle to the spot where the inspection is carried out. If we have to move/tow the vehicle to a prefered site this would incur extra costs.
